Apple Crop Outlook and Marketing Conference
August 17-18
The U.S. Apple Association’s (USApple) 2000 Apple Crop Outlook and Marketing Conference will be held Aug. 17-18 at Chicago’s Fairmont Hotel.

USApple’s annual crop outlook conference is the largest single gathering of the apple industry in the United States, and perhaps the world. Nearly 325 attendees from more than a dozen countries, representing all segments of the apple industry - production, processing, sales and marketing - attended the 1999 conference.

The 2000 conference will feature outlooks for the U.S., European, Chinese and Southern Hemisphere crops. Other sessions will focus on consumer, e-tailing and retailing trends; how the apple industry might utilize new Internet technologies to enhance its competitiveness; a report on the apple sauce retail movement and demand; and an outlook for the apple-juice concentrate market.

For the second consecutive year, the conference will include the association’s annual business meeting, and presentation of the industry’s two top awards: the Apple Grower of the Year Award, and the Apple Person of the Year Award.

USApple will distribute registration information to members and past conference attendees this spring. Other interested persons can contact USApple at (703) 442-8850 for more information.
